    It is up to the issuing Sheriff to decide what qualifies as "Evidence of experience with a firearm through participation in organized shooting competitions." Results in some cases won't cut it this is to keep JOE DIRT in CO from finding comp results on the internet that shows JOE DIRT from RI as competing in a event. (believe me it has happened)

    To the OP, you will want to find someone in your county to reissue you a cert, you can't get a permit in say JEFCO if the instructor is in Gunnison and isn't approve by JEFCO.

    Every Jurisdiction is different, you won't get one here in Gunnison county unless you can produce a USPSA/IPDA/SASS/NRA or other membership card that has you classified in a minimum of at least one division. Or a cert from an instructor that has been approved via GCS (Gunnison County Sheriff)
