    I say SA Loaded full-size. Great pistol for the money. Of course can be had with ambi-safety if you're a lefty- like me. Parked or SS, depending on your fancy.

    I like the 4" to 4 1/4" 1911s very much. One of the problems carrying 1911s in general is that the squared-off grip frame tends to "print" on your over garment. I have a bobtail DW 4 1/4" model that is really good from this standpoint. I also have a 3" Kimber that has the bottom of the gripframe rounded a little to control the printing issue. WB

    The SR1911 is a full size, the OP was wanting a 4" commander/Champion size. I would be interested to see the a 4" SR1911 come out though.

    Is there a bunch of good reviews about Ruger's 1911 or something? It seems to be the default recommendation for a 1911 all of a sudden. I don't know what about Ruger's build quality in their other guns instills faith in people to buy a 1911 by them.
