Sky Sox Game

My wife and I joined the boy and DIL at a Sky Sox game yesterday. It's my first time to see them play and it was a hoot. You get to be a lot closer to the action and players than you do at a MLB game.

As a matter of fact, a few of the visiting team were hanging out near the concession stand chatting up fans, a couple of CSPD officers and signing autographs while we were waiting in line for .50 cent hot dogs (and $7 beers).

After 4 innings the score was 8 to 6, Sox leading. The Fresno Grizzlies didn't score in the top of the 5th.

When the Sox came up in the bottom of the 5th all hell broke loose! They batted around 3 times, scored 13 runs, hit one grand slam and just generally beat some Fresno ass. I think the 5th inning lasted about 1.5 hours. It was 21 - 6 after the 5th inning finally ended.

We had to leave due to some time issues but they scored 3 more runs to end the game at 24-6.

I love going to Sky Sox games! Two dollar Tuesday has to be the best deal in town for families to hong out together. No only if the Rockies could whip some tail like that...
