    Default Vortex Viper PST scopes?

I was looking at buying one of these in 1-4x24, and was wondering if anyone has had experience with this line of scopes?
(basically vortex's budget line of glass... a step down from a razor)

I like the reticle, and the illumination capability. Also the selection between MOA/mil adjustment turrets.

has anyone shot with one of these, or even looked at one up close?
does anyone in the area carry them?

    thanks,
    Kenny

I got to mess around with one recently. Solid scope for the money. I also got to mess around with a SWFA SS 1-4xHD and felt that the Vortex PST was a better scope. Not just a better buy, but a better scope. The Vortex has a good 1X, the reticle is highly functional, the turrets are solid and well designed for this price range. Illumination could be better, but not any worse than anyone elses almost day light bring illumination. Black contrast stands out well against all but the darkest targets and then the illumination is visible. It's a solid grab.

buy one and don't think twice. ive got the 6-24 and my buddy has the 1-4. i love the 6-24 and he is obsessed with the 1-4. they are very good scopes for the money. really just very good scopes in general. youd have to pay probably 1500 and up to find a better scope. the turrets are very "tactical" in that they are clear, big, and very solid clicks. also, their customer service is the best in the business. lifetime warranty, no questions asked.

    Default Vortex Viper scopes

I have a Vortex Viper, but not the pst scope. I love the optics and it shoots very well. The only thing I don't like is it has a very short eye relief. Less than 4 inches. It is a little too close for a big kick rifle. But I have learned to deal with it.

You can't go wrong with Vortex and the you break it we fix it warranty. They really do stand behind their product and I've only heard good things.

I've got a SWFA scope for my M1A - don't waste your money.

I've also got a Vortex spotting scope - definitely worth the money!
