Default What is wrong with schools these days?

This story kind of reminds me of the student a couple months ago who put up the sign on the side of the school asking a girl to prom and wasn't allowed to go because he did something "unsafe." Question now is, what kind of schools are our kids going to where innocent fun is punished?

But the students that are real problems go around un-punished. These two light saber yahoos are on the verge of being the next trench coat mafia killers I'm sure...

Lmao, so instead of saying "hey guys don't you think your a little old for this". They much rather take away the defining moment of walking the line in the graduation ceremony and for this? The principal is a douchebag on a power trip.

I agree. If I had kids and they did something like that and got that severe of punishment believe me I'd be on the phone with my lawyer, the superintendent, the governor and I would use that principal as the example of "outlawing fun and games is the first step to creating a hostile learning environment." I've seen friends when I was in high school get punished for some ridiculous stuff but when I got bullied by an older student and reported it, they only had a talk with him and I got harassed even more for ratting him out... I seriously think schools these days are bs and need to be fixed.

Two words describe what is wrong with school these days:

    Liberal
    Progressives

We went to my nieces graduation in Calhan this last weekend. At the beginning of the ceremony a pastor gave a brief invocation saying thanks to God for helping guide the graduates through trials and tribulations of school and asking God the continue his guidance of these kids as they started their adult lives. There was a reference to the troubled times America is seeing and what is wrong with America and with Gods help we will prevail.
Now I am not a religious man in the least but I thought it was a nice way to start the ceremony.
My wife did not think it was appropriate, that church and State are to remain separate and it had no place in a school function.
I tried to explain to her that this aint the big city and faith is an integral part of a small community such as Calhan.
    She still didn't get it.
After the ceremony as the kids were milling around I ran into the pastor and told him I thought his invocation was nice to see. I then told him that his statement of what is wrong with America is too large of a subject to try and decipher right then and there but the community he looks over is what is RIGHT with America.
It brought the man to tears.

I'm old enough that when I got bullied in HS, I popped said bully in the nose (after hours, off school grounds), and that was the end of it. Now a kid doing the same would be arrested and expelled for having the audacity to fight back, and the bully would be painted as the victim.

Like graduating from high school is some big deal. I blew off my college graduation. I don't even know what month is was. I just stopped showing up when I was done with classes.
