I've seen friends when I was in high school get punished for some ridiculous stuff but when I got bullied by an older student and reported it, they only had a talk with him and I got harassed even more for ratting him out... I seriously think schools these days are bs and need to be fixed.
I'm old enough that when I got bullied in HS, I popped said bully in the nose (after hours, off school grounds), and that was the end of it. Now a kid doing the same would be arrested and expelled for having the audacity to fight back, and the bully would be painted as the victim.
