Med hooch vs. mental illness.

The thread on medical marijuana is interesting. Let's go another step farther. On the Backround form here in Colorado, I don't know about other states, there is a question about being diagnosed with a mental illness. How many people will admit to that.

Then, define "mental illness". 15 years ago stats were 1 out of 10 people have a mental illness. Thats 10 % of the population. Now, stats say that it is 1 in 4 that is 25%, just how is that.

Not only that, but the libtards who are "professionals" are constantly coming up with new fancy mental health titles for just being plain stupid.. On top of that in 1971 "they" took homsexuality from being a mental illness to being the norm.(that would be in the "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual" that pros uses) Why is that ??? Because a very large percentage of mental health "professionals" are gay. I AM NOT GAY BASHING, I could care less what people do behind closed doors. The point I am making is the there are so many "diagnosises" that anyone can be mentally ill. I find that very dangerous. Another thing, most everyone thinks that because someone has a degree that most people know nothing about, that everything they say is gosple.

One last rant. Years ago I would have defended the rights of people who's IQ is smaller than their shoesize the right to own firearms. Now, emperically, I have to change my stance..

I would say they need an actual diagnosis from an actual mental health physician...otherwise we are all a little wacko, wouldn't you say?

The ATF 4473 uses the phrases "adjudicated to be mentally defective" or "ever been committed to a mental institution". I take that to mean a court would have to been involved or some sort of stay at a mental health institution. The instructions say if you've been discharged by them you can answer "No" on the 4473.

I interpret that to mean just seeing a 'shrink' doesn't count.
