    Default Howdy from Westminster!

    Hi All!

    New guy from Westminster here. I'm fairly new to firearms ownership but have taken basic pistol classes and have my CCW permit but currently I've been looking for more range time and places to shoot. I'm also researching where I can get some more advanced training around the area. I'm aware of Gunsite in AZ and Thunder Ranch but am looking for something quality in the Colorado area first. Any recommendations? (I guess I should post this in another area of the forum, too)

    Another question: I'm so discouraged that I haven't been able to find any good places to shoot in this state! I think a lot of it has to do with my ignorance of such matters, but the other half of my cynicism has been my failure at finding a good shooting range or club to join in the Denver/Boulder area. I've ran up to 2 year waiting periods, ranges closing down (e.g. K2FTC), etc etc. Help!!! Recommendations?

    ...sigh...rant over. :P

    Welcome, We hold our monthly shoots out in the woods. The north one is above Lyons and the south on is outside of Woodland Park. That one is this Sat. {Barring Floods}

    Welcome!

    I've heard real good things about classes from Jim Torrez http://www.tacticalskillsinstitute.com/ from several different sources now.
    One source is fellow COAR15 guy Newracer.

    So what does it take for a new guy like me to come to one of your shoots? Any secret handshakes or passwords? :P

    I'd be interested in coming to the Lyons meet sometime. That'd be waaaaay cool!

    Thank you for the recommendation! From looking at his site it seems he is quite qualified and fairly inexpensive. I'll have to look into him more.
