New to Colorado,tell me about your gun laws!

Hey fellas, im new to Colorado, and i have been looking at your gun laws/regulations for a while, but there is still alot i dont know. Now there is a few things i do know(to a certain extent)i.e, you can have a gun in your vehicle, you can get a CCW pretty darn easy,class III state etc.
What i would like to know is if you guys can help me out by letting me know of any laws pertaining to firearms that most people out of the state wont/dont know.
Any other laws not pertaining to firearms would also be helpful also.

Hrmm your allowed to carry open holster without any sort of permit....

Also your not allowed to carry weapons around with a gun sling.... I think our local nut case was to blame for that or somthing... and basically all else is pretty simple you can own anything (exept for things banned by the feds)... shoot on public land as long as you obide by the forest rangers rules and have fun. Welcome to colorado! I Look forward to seeing you at one of our shoots!

Oh and one more thing... I hear that Denver is evil.... i'd say dont go near it with too many guns or you might get in trouble.... i think assualt rifles are banned there, not to sure about pistols though... (i'm in Colorado Springs)

The whole Denver thing is over blown I work in Denver every single day. My shop is right in the heart of Denver and it's not a big deal. I took my M16 to work one day to tinker with it also had the suppressor on it. I didn't have a lot of work on this day so I figured it would give me something to do.

I get to work only to have half of Denver PD there a guy was stabbed to death in the street in front of my shop. I have video surveillance inside and out. They wanted the tapes so I gave them the tapes two detectives as well as several in uniform laughed when they seen the M16. They all joked with me about how they feel sorry for the dumba$$ that tries to rob me.

Denver is not as bad as everyone tries to make it sound. I sure havent had any troubles ever.

Uhhh, hmmm, NO! :twisted: First, there's no state law that you can't do that. Second, the state pre-emption law says the city can't say that. Even so, I doubt Colorado Springs would actually bother. They have banned open carry in their buildings because of that idiot, but CCW is OK. Karl.

NOTE; the current state pre-emption is still a matter for the courts.

Definatly! Just curious, if any of you guys carry a gun in your vehicle, where and how do you keep it? Glovebox condition 1? Storage box trunk of vehicle condition 3? etc.This is great, keep it coming guys!

I carry, but I carry on my person at all times. I also have a backup that I don't usually carry. When I'm not carrying it, it's in a gun safe mounted in the car. Karl.

I have a CCW so like Karl I carry on my person every where I go. On the other hand you can have a gun in your vehicle concealed with out a permit any place in the state. You can put the gun any place you so choose in your vehicle and it's perfectly legal. Rifles can not have a round in the chamber handguns can other than that carry one in your vehicle how ever you wish.
