Default Do you need another Eotech- really?

I have recently been backing away from the red dot sights, and using my iron sights instead. Both flip ups and the carry handle sights. There was a time not long ago that I thought I had to have an optic of some type on every one of my ARs. I've settled on one, and don't keep it mounted on any one gun. KISS & KILL (Keep It Light L????) is evolving into my philosophy.

i have optics as BUIS for my irons. I did install a Burris AR-332 on the 556 patrol for something different. most of my shootin irons are SBR'd so a decent shooting (YES that digest wolf:O ) 16" .225 is nice to see w/out eyeglasses past 1-200yds is ok by me.

My Vltor is full of batteries

I've got an EoTech with a 3x Magnifier. If I'm not using the 3x, I'm co-witnessing with the rear sight... In retrospect, I wish I had gone with a TA31 as it would have been more practical for the type of shooting I do with this rifle (300 meters and less with 80% over 100 meters).

Still, I have no complaints about the Eotech.

Don't get me wrong, I am definitely not opposed to optics. Especially if there is a back-up to them that can be quickly accessed. But if I had to have just one rifle and I had to trust it with my life I would stick with iron sights. Just me. To each his own.
