I'm on my second Blackberry. That being said, my next phone will likely be a Droid or Iphone of some sort. I would guess my phone usage is probably 10% talk and 90% data/text.
I've got a Casio Commando and like it, if you're due for an upgrade check around on the net you can get em for $20. $200 at the verizon store
I have the HTC Evo 3D. I'm a pretty big fan of it. But I'm kind of an android fanboy due to all the custom roms and open source development that goes on with them. Its great for geeking out but all those shooting apps sound pretty awesome. I'm going to dig around the market.
Also, amazon has an android app store that gives away an app that normally costs money for free every day.
The only person that needs a cell phone is a needy pansy ass....

Get the Samsung Enfuse if your company carries them. AT&T I know does for sure. I just got one for the little woman and I have to say that right now its a tier 1 phone. And it didn't cost her a dime because she had an upgrade coming.

There are still talks about a new iPhone coming out soon, i'd wait a little longer to see if that is true. Would suck to get a iPhone 4 when a 4GS or 5 will be released shortly.
If you really need a new phone check ebay or CL and find a cheap basic phone to hold you over.
BTW - Nothing beats iPhone. You are familiar with it, you already love the touch, can't go wrong with an iPhone.

My iPhone's treated me good but I'm considering going with the droid since it's a slightly shittier version of what I already have along with flash capabilities. I wouldn't even consider it but I'm a little pissed that apple won't buy into adobe so I'm willing to make the sacrifice.

Not that I like the iphone at all. But I heard that for the ipad you can DL flash and it will run on the ipad. Maybe, you can do the same thing with the iphone. Just saying.
