    I can't remember the name of the book but I read it a couple of months ago. It was about this guy and his family being among a few of the last that lived there.
    Pretty amazing family
    The second guy has a documentary that comes on PBS every few months.

    I really like the Alone in the Wilderness book, badly made me want a 1903 and a cabin in Alaska.

    Oh the things I'd do for a piece of property and a life like that. My cousin and her husband live in Anchorage, have a hunting/SHTF cabin out in the wilderness... almost every day it crosses my mind that I should just drop everything, move up there, and offer to work as their "housekeeper" at the cabin.

    The bear scene should answer some questions for the "best gun/caliber for the back woods" hand wringers.

    Sadly, that kind of homesteading isn't allowed anymore.
