Cheek rest options?

I've been looking online for a cheek rest for my M1A. One thing for sure is I'm not planning to drill holes or use JB cold weld to keep the thing on the stock . So my question is for those who have some experience or have any ideas with some cheek rest options.
What should I look for in a cheek rest style mount... strap on's or the shoe laced type cheek rest? I'm looking for a 1 inch rise.
My real worries is if the thing comes loose while I run around with it or something, and starts snagging on things.. oh and leaving ugly marks on the stock as well..
