I'm actually not a huge fan of SOG's knives. They do make some damn fine blades, but all of their folders just feel too light to me. The Trident was great for ranch work though cause I could cut hay bales without having to open it. My knife is first and foremost a tool, but it is a weapon as well if it needs to be, and if I ever need to use it as such a little weight would help carry the momentum of stabbing and slashing, not to mention punching with the extra weight in my fist.
I carry a CRKT M16-14SFG, its my second one (loaned the first to a "friend" and never saw it again) and its held up to all I've put it through, shows the abuse but no major damage. My one complaint is that it dulls quickly, but its easy to sharpen.
SOG's fixed blades are great, but I see no need to buy another one when a Ka-Bar can be had for less.

+1
I see people praising them left and right but all the ones I've had/played with have all felt like cheapo Wallyworld products. Same with Kershaw.
