What about Glenwood Springs? Not sure about the fishing there but I am sure the wife would be happy.
We went to Glenwood for Memorial day weekend, rafting was great think it was a good weekend for it as the water hadn't peaked to max flow.
Hot springs, massages, great food.

umm I am here in GS and its full of oompah coaches and granola chompin tree huggers...

And you know of a mountain town where these things don't exist?
A wife that's 6 mos. preggers probably ain't too interested in whitewater rafting.....just my guess.
Steamboat is a long ass dregs haul, isnt it? Estes should'nt be too bad, cept for weekends getting up there with all the idiots and nuts that pass on a double yellow.
the Swiss Village,lodge (forgot) is sort of rustic woody, but new and clean. Ah, you missed the off season though.
Id go for those cabins if they aren't all booked.
3 hours from my house in northglenn
and they are working on the eastbound lower levels in the canyon, so its down to 1 lane each way and 40mph, if you are lucky
She would like all of it except the rafting. 6 months pregnant!
I think that may be a good idea.
I talked her into camping last night but now I am questioning it. We have cots and nice sleeping bags and a hood tent with a heater so it would be comfortable but not sure how smart it is on my part.
is there any decent camping close to glenwood?
