    Default Quitting smoking...

So I decided yesterday that I needed to quit smoking. I've smoked for almost 29 years and I aint getting any younger or healthier. So yesterday I stopped, I had my last cig yesterday afternoon and that was it...

Well holy sh!t if today isnt one of the longest worst frickin days of my life!!

I have been doing everything I can to try and keep my mind off of it but man its tough. Then I am outside mowing the lawn and the little disrespectful brat neighbor kids are dragging there basketball net(you know, the one with the base that you fill up with water or sand) up front and the little bastard drags the hoop across my car and gouges all the way down to metal on the door, fender and hood!! WTF!! I watched the little shit head do it, so I yelled to him and said what the heck, he just shrugs his shoulders and says "oh,, sorry" then turned around and went on draggin the basketball net out front. I flipped out and went side ways on these kids(bad day you should have scratched some ones car that didnt just quit smoking). I said man what were you thinking, are you gonna pay for this, and with the most arrogant and disrespectful reply he just says "no". Well who is then. "I dont know what to tell you man, I said I was sorry"...WTF kids today have zero respect and responsibility for anyone or anything. I was fumin, so I said, well I guess I will just call the cops then(thinking this would bring out some respect or compassion for what they just did. Nope they didnt think I would do it, so screw it, I called the po-po!!

I felt like such a dousche when I called(i called non-emergency) but the copper on the phone was actually pretty cool and agreed that he should send over a squad. So the copper shows up and asked what happened and I told him the story(I was out in the garage doing some re-loading) and I said all I really want you to do is just put a little scare into them. So he did.

On a side note the copper ended up being really cool and we sat and talked about guns for 45 minutes, neat guy to talk to.

Ok, rant over, thanks for listening but man do I want a frickin cigarette...

There isnt a day that goes by I dont think about picking it up again but I don't.
I cant go through all of that again.
I cannot undo all of the time and good I have done for myself.
I cannot do that to my son.

Cold turkey is the best way to go. I gave up a 30 year somkeless tobacco habit and it was the hardest thing I ever did in my life. If you can just get past the first two months or so it really does get easier.

Keep reminding yourself about all the money that went to cigs will now go to shooting supplies. If you buy cheap powder you will still be smoking, just having more fun

Glad to hear the po-po was cool and didn't add to your stress.

I was going for 4 months great but fell off the wagon last week it was a long shitty week socially emotionally mentally and employment wise. But I bought my one pack Friday finished it and have been working thru the cravings all right. That nicotine gum does not do anything for me same with e cigs etc.

Good luck to all the quitters it fricken sucks

Since you already have a police report, just knock on the neighbor's door and tell them to file a claim on their home owners insurance. When they don't, file a claim under your auto insurance, and once the car is completed, they'll bill your neighbors for the damages. The neighbors will either have to pay or call their insurance company to cover it for them. Then they're home owners insurance will get non-renewed and they'll have to find other insurance and will pay more for it.
