I have tried those patches but they're really tough to keep lit

I quit Cigs 3+ years ago...I found that the hardest thing for me was re-training your mind on what to do when you would normally be having a cig; wake-up, after meals, bored. My dentist gave me some mint packets that helped but alas after 6mo my brother in law brought back some cuban cigars and I figured "eh I wont get hooked on stoggies". Well needless to say I now smoke Swisher sweets mini's in grape. So I'll be hopping on the wagon soon guys!

I went cold turkey on booze and cigs when my son was born-27 years ago. When you take away 2 huge addictions like those you suddenly have a huge vacuum to fill. Hobby time !!

This October will be two years off cigarettes for me (after 20 years), and two years off of booze next friday.

I used Camel Snus to help ween me off of the nicotine, and then I just got bored of that too. That stuff really helped me though. Good luck; it's worth it!

Thanks for all the success stories and support folks.

Like mentioned its the retraining my brain that will be the hardest. I wake up and have a smoke, make a pot of coffee, when thats done pour a cup and go have a smoke. Go take a dump! Then have a smoke. couple more smokes, then shower, get in the car, smoke. It was a habit to light up every time i got in the car. Well, I'm in sales and would get in and out of the car 7 or 8 times a day, lit up every time I got back in the car. After every meal, after sex, pretty much before, after and during EVERYTHING...

Oh well I know this will be for the better!

    Thanks again folks!

14 months cig free here, would love one right now BUT DON'T EVER LET ONE TOUCH yer lips again. After one year AM coughing spell free.
You might also try cinnamon sticks.. gives you a little bite on the tongue and oral gratification
    Good Luck!
