It seems that this guy forgot to leave the, "It Is Them Against Us", mantra at the time clock for his next shift.
Can anyone say steroids? There is a problem with a lot of cops and steroids and there has been for a very long time. I'm not saying cops need steroids to be out of control, I'm just saying it helps some of them along their way. Not sure if it's the problem in this case but it has a lot of the signs.

Cop bashing or not, this is unacceptable. As I said before, I was an LEO in the early eighties. Only part of the job that sucked was other cops. Too many assholes, to much abusing authority, not enough psych exams. And apparently it ain't got any better. I was naive back when, I never understood why so many people were disgusted with cops. I was not the only one in my family and family friends.
P.I.G. used to stand for Pride, Integrity, and Guts. Now it stand for Pricks, Idiots and Ghouls....
The 'Good Ol' Boy" systems just don't work in any line of work where human lives are affected. This whole country is based on checks and balances, that's why we have three branches of the government. We need to plice others and ourselves. Because there are millions of drug infested, theivin' assholes that are against hard working, law abiding Americans..

I don't know how long Hughes has been on the job, but I would guess that his supervisors and co-workers are well aware of his issues and won't be holding any fund raisers to help out with his legal defense.
I normally buy my gas at that Costco and I am pretty certain I know the older gentleman who works as an attendant at the pumps. He is usually out of the building and walking around, even in inclement weather. He is friendly and a nice guy to chat with. If the victim in this assault is this same gentleman, it would take a real animal to inflict any kind of violence on him. I will pray that justice is swift and efficient in this case. I often pray for this but I am often disappointed.

Did someone tell you that life was going to be fair? You and I are old enough to know that it is not and if someone said it we would laugh at them for being a fool or a liar.
Until a better system comes along, we are stuck with the one we have. It is better here than many other places. You've been in a few of those places and I assume you would agree. As bad as it can be here, it beats some of the backwards, sewage dumps that most people live in.
I hope we all do what we can to make it better. I'll keep trying as I am sure most of us will.
