Trading/selling all of your pistols to go solely to revolvers?
That thought has crossed my mind a few times as of late; I love the simplicity, reliability, and the pure genius of the mechanical function of a good revolver.

No way.
Revolvers have a definite style to them, but a hi capacity semi auto is more practical.
my father in law just did this... I'm not a huge revolver fan. But he will be carrying a .38 special and he bought a 45lc single action cowboy gun bla bla bla.... If you dig revlovers I say do it. Oh and post pics!

I have too many 30 round pmags.
I Say DO IT!
Right after you donate all of your Semi's to me![]()
Simplicity? A revolver?
You are kidding right? Mechanically a revolver is a far more complex contraption than even the simplest of autos. When you pull the trigger on a revolver in DA mode something like 200 individual operations are performed by the internal components. The biggest advantage to a wheelgun is clearing a FTF usually involves no more than pulling the trigger again.
Slower reloads, lower round capacity, complexity is not a winner in my book.
The most important thing to be learned from those who demand "Equality For All" is that all are not equal...
Gun Control - seeking a Hardware solution for a Software problem...
revolvers are also good for variable load powers- since the recoil doesn't have to work the action, you can have soft .38spl and hot .357Mag loads one right after the other, with no affect on function...
only practical application that I can think of right now is rat shot, tho... and I've got .45ACP snake shot that works great (don't use it INSIDE the garage, tho)
I only own 1 revolver, and it's just a hi-standard .22LR (was my Grandfather's)- it does rat shot well, holds 9 shots- would be even better if it could do .22WMR, but it's an early model aluminum frame.
I could see myself getting a .460 S&W Magnum revolver someday (something you just don't see in an semi-auto), but I'm with BPTactical otherwise... I prefer the capacity & reload speed of a semi-auto.

I am in a position where it doesn't have to be an either/or deal. I like the variety. I don't have a favorite among my guns.
If I want to feel history I get out my Walker reproduction black powder revolver or maybe a Broomhandle. When I feel like accuracy today it's the High Standard Trophy or the Colt Police Positive Target. For pain it's the Anaconda or Astra 400. For cute I can go for the NAA 22 revolver or a Baretta 21. I hope you get what mean.
So I don't worry about what I buy. That is until I open the door to the safe and wonder, "Where am I going to put this?"
I have/use both, couldn't imagine it any other way.
