I honestly don't know where my Smithing business would be without this forum. The members here have been the entire customer base for me practically The Mods were gracious to allow me to become an IP on just my word and they have been great. I will second the sentiment of the forum being a reflection of the Mods and majority of the members. We get a lot of different views on subjects and for the most part few pissing matches. We all become better as a result.
    Attitude begets attitude.
I rarely go to "that other site" anymore other than the Gunsmithing section. Too many keyboard warriors and character assassins.
Every forum member that I have met has been a down to earth individual vs a "mall ninja" and we all have common bonds, our fetish of things that go Boom and aside from a few folks that are out of state, we are all in the same relative place. There is a kinship here.
We help each other when warranted and I would be willing to bet if somebody was really in dire need, they would find a line of members willing to help outside of their front door.

BigMat- don't worry about tanking it at a range around the guys here, nobody is watching anyway.

Reminds me-we need to set up another COAR15 shoot and maybe a camping weekend.

I aint that close at the moment but will be again. 23 years in and around the Springs is a hard act to follow and yeah I have met a few of the members here that were associated with IPSC in pueblo in the late 90s.

    Great, Fun place

That other site for arfcom rejects can do without my superior intellect anyhow.

I agree with all that has been said, and being somewhat new myself think these guys here are great. Haven't met any in RL yet, but UberTong is meeting me up at Squaw Pass "Playground" for some shooting this weekend (I know it's father's day but my dad is too busy playing golf). Anyone is welcome...
Usually if you don't know something just hop on here and ask and you have an answer without any real negativity, just be thick skinned because some will flame you a tad- but it's all in good fun.

Yeah.. Just watch your spelling, grammar and punctuation!
(I firmly believe we are critical of these items because we want those who represent us as 'firearms enthusiasts' to be able to communicate clearly and effectively)!

Yeah, those spelling/grammar Nazi's do love to roll around this thread and police the ones who just can't quite communicate like grown people.

Because we're more local, it greatly reduces the anonymity part of the above equation...

As has been mentioned above it all depend on the standards of the board owner and moderators. I don't think it is just because this is a local board. There are other boards that are not just a bunch of jerks. I go to the Bowers Subguns.com boards. The moderators keep the board free of jerks but still have lively discussions. I'm sure there are other gun boards that are friendly to all good people. Uzitalk.com is good too. Just keep checking around.
