Why would detectives be contacting students at all? What crime has been committed? Not surprised that people are trying to strong arm kids though.

It wasn't porn, but a similar thing happened with my high school year book. There were pictures of people drinking and smoking pot in it... big fuss, blah blah, I still have mine.

Pornography Defined: Any visual media depicting the genitalia of a male or female to include videos, pictures, drawings or paintings.
Child Pornography: Same as above only involving minors (US under 18).
The only reason I had that definition lying around was because I had to prove that Maxim was not porn to my COC in Afghanistan.

The child porn thing is just a scare tactic. The authorities can't do jack if the kids don't return the books.

True and all it really is is minors depicting a sex act, it's not any worse that what I've seen on some of my friends younger siblings/children's facebook pictures- which some of that is not really all that appropriate for under 18 to be doing.

Hell, for that guy in the picture, this is a trophy! Besides, given the scandal you know that this picture has been scanned and uploaded to the net a million times already.

Seriously, what reaction should the school have made? It doesnt matter where...it would have been the same for a Colorado school. As a previous poster mentioned about his yearbook with a picture of kids smoking pot. He didnt go to a Ca HS...
Sucks all around, but the box has been opened...the books are out there. Cant do much about it, but there may be some overstating school official, cop, or jounalist labling something child porn to try and stuff everything back in the box. Futile.
