    Default Green Mountain Barrels

I've heard good things about the barrels Green Mountain makes for Black Powder, and apparently they are now making barrels for ARs in 16" and 20" lengths.

Price is damn good for a Chrome Lined Barrel at $129. M4 Extensions, threaded, etc. But I haven't found many reviews about them.

Has anyone here ever used one on an AR?

Gm guarantees their shit. the bbl's i have purchased from them (10/22) all work fine. Keep in mind you are buying a standard not precision bbl, so don't get upset if you are not doing cloverleafs @ 100yds.

Green mountain barrels are very nice for the money, though I haven't heard how their ar barrels are. I used a gm barrel for my yugo m76 and it shoots 1 inch groups with quality ammo (pretty good for an ak based action) if you call in your order dennis there at gm is a great guy and will answer any questions you have

Finished up the 16" and took it shooting this weekend. I'll put some pictures up tonight or tomorrow in the Build Your Own section.

But I just wanted to update this and say I am extremely satisfied with my Green Mountain Barrel. The fit to the upper was perfect. The finish on it was great. The threads were perfect, the Troy Claymore I put on it threaded on with ease and even timed correctly when it was wrenched tight. Gas hole lined up dead center with the Troy low profile gas block i installed.

Rob at Bowers was kind enough to check it for Go and NoGo. Passed that test perfect.

I put a Primary Arms M3 on top of it and gave it a quick boresight before I took it camping this weekend.

We found a good place to do some shooting and ranged it out to be 89yds from the shooting line to the targets. (We were shooting at 20oz water bottles filled with dirt). I took a knee, put the dot on the bottle, squeezed off a round and the bottle blew up. Can't beat that.

I am extremely pleased with every aspect of this barrel. Once I get to the range with some ring targets I'll try to remember to take pictures of a grouping at 50 and 100yds.
