Here's what I just wrote to NBC Sports:
To whom it may concern,
In regards to your presentation of the US Open on your network and the grievous, un-American error someone at your network made of omitting the words "One nation, under God," has me speechless and disgusted. I refuse to believe that something like this can happen at a time like this. You display US Armed Service members, a community I am a proud veteran of, and have the Pledge playing in the background, then leave a part of it out? How dare you. Your employees may not agree with the phrase of "Under God" but it is tradition, that's what the founders of this nation believed, and that is the words of our Pledge, something I feel very passionately about and have taken that Pledge to heart so many times I have lost count. I don't care if your network wishes to remove religion from your lives, or have a distinct separation from your network and religion, this is the way things are in America. You don't omit "Rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air" from the National Anthem just because you're a non-violent person who doesn't believe in violence. Thus, you do not omit anything from our Pledge of Allegiance. Your apology was far from sincere regarding this error and I do hope you get your act together. If you or your employees do not like the way things are done here in America I invite you to leave post haste.
Thank you for your time,
Ryan C. Davidson
