Being armed, you need to hold yourself to a higher standard than the rest of the sheeple. Flipping them the bird is a way to potentially aggravate the situation, and these are things we need to be aware of. Wasn't there a post here not too long ago where some incident occurred and the other driver went beside them and started waving a gun? It happens, it could happen to any of us. I know if someone started waving a gun at me while driving and I couldn't get away from them for whatever reason, I'd be firing at them.
If you're driving and somebody cuts you off, yell at em at the top of your lungs or cuss at em till you'd make a sailor blush, but past that just let it go and be done with it... no need to honk, flash your lights, tailgate, flip them the bird, or give them any other excuse to continue interacting with you.

Ranger: Nosir. That's not the reason for this thread at all, and if you carefully read the OP, you'll know that.

I put the thread up here for people to tell others what pisses them off in traffic. Tailgaters are my pet peeve, and that's where it started. Now, people are calling ME the aggressor because I try to move people off my ass when they seem to think it's OK to push me harder.

Let me tell you guys something. I won't be blocking you in the left lane unless I'm passing someone else, and even then, I'll move back over to the right as soon as I can. But if you're pushing me from the back and either can't or won't pass, I'm going to try to get you the hell off my bumper. If that means slowing down, that's what I'll do. If that doesn't work, I'll tap my brakes lightly, maybe another time or two. But when that message doesn't work, I WILL spot a toddler, a dog, a pile of broken glass or maybe a box of nails in the lane in front of me and I WILL brake hard to try to avoid hitting it. If you're still so close to me that you hit me in the ass, it's YOUR fault, not mine. Deal with it. I have every right to slow down if I feel it's necessary.

I have to laugh at you junior lawyers here who try to interpret the law to me. I'm going to move you off my rear bumper, and yet you'll soon have everything I own. Yeah. Right. Hit me from behind and I guarantee it'll be your fault, not mine. But wait: Since I visit a gun forum, I must carry a pistol most of the time, and that means I'm going to get mad at you and pull the trigger. Good grief. You guys are too much.

No, Zombiekiller, I'm not 10. In fact, there's a pretty good chance I've been driving since before you were born. And let me let you in on another little secret, asshole. I've never had a moving violation in my life (with very close to 40 years of driving), and I've never been involved in an accident that was my fault. I bet most of you can't honestly make those two statements. (Of course, both accidents I've been in were someone hitting me in the ass. I guess I shouldn't have had my brakes on at those red lights, according to you guys. And after reading this thread, I'm surprised I didn't get out of my car and shoot 'em, especially the shithead who was uninsured.)

Monky, you're trying to catch me in contradictory statements. Never once did I say that hard braking was my FIRST choice. I simply said that I've been known to do it.

I generally obey the traffic laws, maybe cheat by 2 to 5 MPH but not much more. If you're pushing me to go faster, it's YOU who needs to grow up. It's not my problem if you couldn't get your lazy ass outta bed to get to work without breaking the land speed records.

So again, I'll stay out of your way as best I can. YOU can have the tickets, I really don't give a shit. In return, do two things for me: Stay off my ass, and don't make me stop as an accident witness when you wrap your car around the gardrail. OK?

You guys can carry on without me. Forever.

Tweety, well said. Don't push a man to the edge of a cliff, he'll push back! I agree, and I've never threatened, pulled, or even mentioned my gun in an angry situation, and never will unless there is a viable threat. People are telling me that I have to be held at a higher standard because I'm a CCW holder. Ok, but when someone does something that's just plain dumb and makes me wonder what cracker jack box they got their driver's license out of I'll shoot them the bird, not shoot a bullet at them. If they get upset because I'm "communicating" (as Goose once said) and pull a gun I've got a good story for the police when I tell them how they made an illegal lane change, tail gated, whatever... because if it ends with me having to draw my gun, well let's just say "dead men tell no tales." Not my fault if the asshat is an angry individual who thinks they always have the right of way.
By the way tweety, I use the exact same escalation of force for tailgaiting that you do... slow, tap, tap, stomp!

I don't like being tailgated either, but brake checking someone on purpose is dangerous and stupid.

If I'm in the outside lane and someone is on my tailpipe and won't go around, I'll move over when I can and let them by.

if they stay behind me no matter what lane changes I do (this has never happened to me) well then they are being stupid and I'll deal with it accordingly by either exiting, turning or just laying off the gas and slowing down until we're going 20. if they're still with me I'm on the phone to the cops.

I wish I had a dime for every time I've come up on someone doing 10 or 15 under the limit, then when I get around them they see me passing, realize how slow they were going and speed up to ten over to stay ahead.

I'm more polite when I'm packing. If I'm being nice, that doesn't mean I'm an easy target.

All of these comments/opinions, yet no one made any remarks about my post about LEO's (CSP especially) seeming to use the left lane only when traveling on I-25. Shit, I'm going back to sleep.

Brake check works just fine. You can always claim something in the road or off to the side that looked like it was ggettimg ready to be in front of you.
I always wanted some of the james bond tacks that popped tires.
All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

I was hoping to find like minded people o this forum, but.... There are tons of assholes on the road.... It's LEO's, if they paid more attention and less time on their cell phones, that should be taking care of these people.

And yes, because we believe in the Constitution and our rights, we were granted the legal way of carrying firearms concealed, we should hold ourselves above. I have a serious firearm responsibility and I will act accordingly.

The most aggressive drivers on the road are females between 20 and 45 years of age. Let them go, but it is a fuckin' shame that the assholes usually take some inocents with them when they crash....

Flipping people off is lame and immature. I prefer to jerk my hand off on one side of my mouth, and run my tongue on the inside of my opposite cheek.

This thread has taken a strange tone. I can say that as I got older the little things did not get to me as much. I will say that I dislike being tailgated but then I do follow the rules and keep to the right except to pass.

I even let the progressive people know how nice I am by letting them follow me around for the last 3 months with 3 more to go. As it stands right now I have a 30% discount on the three cars because I let them play "big brother"

Now if anyone thinks they are a "good" driver an has Progressive let them put that box in your car and see how ya do.

In my case I have never had a chargeable accident since 1974 and my last ticket was in 1989.
I see you running, tell me what your running from

Nobody's coming, what ya do that was so wrong.
