You get the same stuff in any forum you visit. Makes no difference if it's cars, guns, golf, skiing, or anything else.
Everybody who posts thinks they're qualified in some superior fashion over most everybody. You've read it: Everybody ELSE is a danger, a hazard, an asshold, shouldn't be there, yadayadayadayada.
I see it all the time in the form of, "some people just shouldn't be allowed to (own guns) (drive) (have kids)." You name it, somebody else shouldn't be allowed to do it.
The problem is, once you fall into that trap, you're giving someone ELSE (usually some bureaucrat) the power to make the decision over who DOES get to do it and if they can take it away from HIM, he can take it away from YOU.
As far as being a nicer driver now that you carry, I don't doubt it. That might lead to "safer", as well, but I don't think they're directly connected. (For instance, I have a cousin who's the nicest person in the world. Always a smile on her face, always nice to everybody. But I wouldn't ride with her.)
Of course, since I visit an AR-15 forum a lot, it's assumed that I carry one in my car, or conceal one on my person, and I might get violent with it. So apparently it can work the other way, too.
(Like I said, there were a LOT of assumptions in that post. Wrong assumptions, by the way, but that's OK because the assumptions did exactly what they always do. I don't care; if people think I'm crazy, maybe they'll stay away from me.)
Of course, I'm the stupid one here (refer to post #15), so what do I know?
