Yep I am down there a couple times a month on average and its way to much! I was downtown last monday with the family, its not humorous like venice beach, its just messed up. At least at venice you get a mixture of hotties and freaks

Down town is a funny place to me. I work on 5th and kalamath just blocks away from down town.

While I don't go that way very often, I too am only approached by the homeless for money. Perhaps the original poster just looks friendlier and more approachable than myself or DeusExMachina.
