Default Shooting Range Blamed for Fires?

I was listening to 630 AM this afternoon, and I caught a quick quip about people in Boulder blaming a shooting range for the fires recently. One woman stated that this isn't the first time.

Anyone up north have any information on this? Any possible truth, or just another anti-gunner trying to get the range shut down? And could this be the North range; I've never been there.

    Couldn't it be both?
Modern liberalism is based on the idea that reality is obligated to conform to one's beliefs because; "I have the right to believe whatever I want".

Of course that is a possibility.

It's not the north site, that's been closed for a while. It is not any of the other common areas for shooting either. It is down by Buckingham park if I saw the map properly, which is Boulder mountain parks-so no shooting there. Blaming shooters (or 4x4's) for anything is standard Boulder practice.

I'm sure if it were nature lovers having a medicinal gathering to become one with Bambi who thought the roach was extinguished would be accepted by the populous.

My cousin said he was up there and it started close to a road indicating probably a cigarette or maybe a a doobie.

This always bugs me. Maybe it is, probably isn't. Recently I was up near the South Site with my wife shooting, and as we went in a bunch of hippie Subaru types were camping near the road. Hours later as we left we were driving by their now empty camp site and saw their fire still going. Wasted all of our water putting it out. I figured if it spread shooters might catch the blame for it. The South Site no less! It already burned down once, its not hard to figure out what might happen up there.

I went camping up at Guanella last weekend and a lady came up and said "please move your Jeep, we're going to pull our 5th wheel in here", so I told her "you're welcome to but I'm going to be shooting near where you want to be camping", she got really pissed off and told me "you can't shoot here, it's illegal", I politely corrected her on that topic and she went away. The funny thing is that she and her 5th wheel built a bonfire, near the trees, in the prairie, with a fire ban in effect. It was pretty chilly that night and I would have loved to have a fire but no way I'm going to set the state on fire just because I want to be warm.

On the topic of shooting up there, I had never seen posted signs for "shooting rules" in a park before, it was actually kind of cool to see.

found out how that fire at south site started ,gonna leave it at that (dont want to ruin it for us by sighting another bad example )
some fires are shooters but most are regular folks being loose with there smoking stuffs .

What the hell do you need a bonfire for when you have a 5th wheel?
