RMGO didn't claim to write the current "Make My Day" law that is now in Colorado Statutes.

We have been trying to expand that law, so it covers you in your place of business, in your car, or other areas.

Yes, please: let the smoke clear (if you'll pardon the pun) on this TV Show, and see what you think, if you have questions about us. Judge RMGO by what it does, where it stands, and (in regards to this TV show) the part RMGO plays (NOT Rich Wyatt, or anyone else, as we have no control over that).

To some here who are NRA guys, but then say "I can't believe RMGO would associate with Rich Wyatt", I suggest you look at an American Rifleman magazine from early 2010, with Sen. Harry Reid's picture all over it (with Wayne LaPierre fawning all over him).

    RMGOdirector,
My issue wasn't with you, but was with newracer's claim that RMGO had something to do with the Colorado Castle Doctrine law. I doubted this for reason's stated. This was not an attack on RMGO.

From what I know about RMGO, y'all do some good WRT the Second Amendment in Colorado.

    OK, Dudley...

You just about had me back in your court on the Wyatt/Gunsmoke thing...until you wrote that.

The "NRA does it, too!" defense is pretty lame. I thought you might be above such a weak, straw-man argument. I guess not.

I have 2 big arguments with RMGO:
    • the constant bad-mouthing of the NRA
    • and now this deal with Wyatt/Gunsmoke
I've been able to overlook the NRA bashing though I'm a Benefactor Member. I'd considered renewing my membership to RMGO as I always do. Now, I'm on the fence again.

The only compelling argument I can see in renewing is the fact you do fight the good fight in Colorado and I appreciate that.

But the NRA bashing is a big turnoff and it's not helping your position...at least with me, anyway. And this sort of statement certainly doesn't help.

If you're going to say it's wrong for NRA don't you have to admit it's wrong for RMGO?

No, two wrongs don't make a right. I was merely showing the hypocrisy of some.

Harry Reid is a leftist-voting politician whom the NRA gives cover to, in exchange for "access" for them.

Rich Wyatt, whatever you might say about him, is a gun rights activist (sorry, no one on this list has proven he's not, and can't, unless they tell me their name and can list decades of fighting against gun control).

Quite different, even if you hate his shop, his personality (frankly, I know quite a few politicians who have amiable personalities but vote terribly), etc.

For RMGO, trying to steer an already existing TV show to be better (by having our members be a part of the show) when they talk about the gun community is a no-brainer.

As for us talking "out of school" about the NRA, sorry, but we're not going to stop talking about anyone -- regardless of their affiliations -- who sell out gun owners. Period. Full stop.

So, let me see if I have this right...
You condemn those that would sell out gun owners...
Yet you used my personal information on a gun rights mailing list for the benefit and financial gain of a private company.

Well said, although I don't believe you were referring to yourself at the time.

It is not selling out gun owners to get them involved in a TV show (that is happening whether you like it or not).

Let's not have another 20 rounds of circular arguments. We've already stated positions. We simply don't agree that RMGO using it's e-mail list for a TV show is "screwing" anyone.

Default RMGO is a GOOD THING

Times are tough and money is tight. I was a member of the NRA and the NAGR until last year but I just can't afford the $35 it takes to re-up with each of them. That $35 buys me a week of gas to get to work and back and to take my disabled wife to her doctors. If that sound like pocket change to you, I will accept a membership renewal from anyone of you that can afford to pay the membership fee. I just can't afford to pay out the money at this time and count myself lucky to be employed. I do continue to remain a member of the RMGO as they look after my rights on a local level. I put personal issues aside to help protect our rights.

As to Gun Smoke, I like Rich and get along with him just fine. I will not have my guns worked on by his shop anymore but I do like visiting Gun Smoke when I am in the area.
