Is there a point to it besides aesthetics?

Weight reduction is the biggest benefit I can see. While I have not done this myself, I think it might help my heavier match style barrel contour. Supposedly since the cuts are staggered it will not weaken or alter the barrel harmonics as much as fluting will. If you find someone local that can do it, let me know. As far as I know, ADCO is the only place. Price is about 230 total.

I would dive into this but unfortunately I am not set up for CNC. The time vs cost of manually machining them would make the process cost prohibitive.
