Default Close to getting my "SPR" done

I put the "SPR" in quotations because aside from the 18" barrel and the fact that it is built on the AR platform it really has little else in common with a true SPR. Besides the obvious scope/scope mount, about the only thing it lacks is a handguard and some sort of muzzle device. This is a "low budget" build and I will be upgrading parts as time goes on. For all you specification junkies, here are some details...

    Spikes lower
    Spikes LPK
Magpul MOE grip and trigger guard
    A2 buttstock assembly
    Bushmaster upper receiver
    RRA charging handle
    BCM auto BCG
Armalite 18" barrel, rifle length gas system, .223 Wylde with 1:8 twist
    DPMS gas block

Once I get it all done I will eventually be upgrading to a quality trigger and will most likely be replacing the barrel with a different barrel. Heck, I might even rebarrel it with something in 300 AAC Blackout.

Looks like you're going to have a nice finished product. What kind of foreend & muzzle brake are you thinking about?

Nice looking rifle so far. Are you going to go with the of those tube style forends?

I will probably go with a cheap free float tube for now and will probably upgrade that to a Midwest Industries SS handguard later. as far as muzzle devices I am really undecided. Kind of leaning towards one of these...

Ordered a cheap free float tube and a Nordic "Cadillac" compensator. Will post pictures once they arrive next week.

Looks like the last couple of parts are scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Looks like I will have something to do after work tomorrow.

Except for the optics and the bi-pod it is done for now. I definitely like the weight and balance of it. I will shoot it like this for a while and then will re-barrel it with a barrel in 300 AAC Blackout. Will probably change the handguard at that time as well as put on a different muzzle device and gas block.
