    Default WHAT A DAY

    today was a bad day.
I get ready to leave for work, and decide to call Barney who I am buying the acog clone from on the classifieds here, told him would meet him in springs at 2pm. i stop at the store get gas and coffee. As soon as I get on the interstate from Percel I hear this loud racket. I pull over and there is a stream of coolant for the last couple hundred yards. Pop the hood and the fan on my dad's Kia sportage had exploded. It came apart in about 5 pieces taking the radiator out with it. Call roadside assistance they tow me to the dealer here in Pueblo, This is where it gets interesting. The damn fan isnt part of the engine and power train warranty. It has 100k/10year, but it would have been covered under the basic which ran out at 60k miles, it has 68k on it so 8k miles ago this thing was covered. Whats bad is he said this is a common problem with the KIA fans they just come apart. I raised all kinds of hell I was pissed. Anyway, after all said and done it was just over 700 dollars. They are giving me a military discount and it is still goin to cost 600 dollars. New fan, radiator, overflow tank blah blah blah. I priced the parts and it wouldnt have been to much cheaper for me to do it, its only 2 hours labor. So i told them to go ahead and do it.
The pisser is I was borrowing my dads kia because my truck is torn down in a couple hundred pieces for an engine swap, it will probably be done sometime in august. So this leaves me without a car until tuesday morning. I was goin to rent a car, but i said screw it im just goin to take a few days off of work and work on my truck some. Boss will be pissed but oh well.

I am goin to call Barney this evening and see if he wants me to mail a money order to him or what ever he wants to do. This was the main thing I was concerned about cause I thought maybe he would think was trying to back out of the deal, but thats not the case. Just really bad timing.

I had a flat tire on my truck, took it in to get that fixed.
He noticed that I needed brake pads on the front. ( I knew it was about time)
Next call was the rotors are bad.
Next call, the front axle needs parts.
Another call, and the ball joints on one side are bad.
The shocks are shot, etc. etc. etc.
This is going to be one EXPENSIVE “flat tire” repair.

    8,000 miles over warrantee???
I think they PLAN/DESIGN this to happen.

yea and whats bad, i have been using his car for a couple of months, I drive 500-600 miles a week, so 8k miles was only a couple months ago. Its like the fan was designed to last about 65-70k miles and then take a dump.
My parents really dont have the money to pay for it to get fixed. I told them that i would pay for it, I was going to buy an XD next week and i told my dad i would just use that and get an XD later no big deal, gives me longer to make up my mind .40 or 9mm XD

on another note I want to say that Teufelhund is a good guy, he is who i am buying the scope from, offered to drive down here to pueblo from springs and bring the scope down tomorrow morning. I wish there was more people in the world like that. I truely appreciate that more than i can say.

now i have 4 days to work on my own truck, so i should get a good amount of work done on it as well. I havent had any time off work lately. I need another job where i only work 40 hours a week

I feel your pain man. My Escort shit on me a couple of months ago after I took it in for an oil change at Wal-Mart. Then I bought an old truck and the transmission went out on it. Now I'm driving my third car in 2 months. Needless to say I haven't been buying many guns lately. To top it off I'm getting married in a few weeks and if I don't figure out how I'm gonna pay for the honeymoon that won't last very long [roll].
