Left Hand open?

Just wondering if any one has gone up shooting in Left Hand this weekend yet? I may head up tomorrow but since the fires I just want to make sure it's open.

nope, left hand area is closed through monday according to the
forest service web page. I drove by this morning to check and there is a barricade up at the
entrance

I assume it is now open due to heavy rain couple days we had.

Last I heard it was closed until further notice.

There was a big ACCESS CLOSED sign and lots of brightly colored tape across the entrance on Tuesday.

Its still closed. I talked to a ranger during the first closure this year and their concern was the stability of the hillside and the burned trees. With the heavy rain it'll just keep it closed longer. There were numerous mud slides up to 2 feet deep on Left Hand drive during the rain storms earlier in the week...

My main shooting area use to be Northsite. Now, I try to goto Lefthand during weekdays.
This is probably one of the closest place from where I live.

More update near future would be greatly appreciated.

the posting on the road block says closed till october
try squaw pass , a much nicer place to shoot

Just got this. Guess we will see what "reviewed" means.

Lefthand Closure - Closure of Lefthand for fire on Mother Hill will
continue until July 25/26. After this date area will be reviewed before
reopening.

Boulder District Ranger - Christine Walsh will be retiring on Aug 1.
