Default Ten Reasons I Love the USA

    This is my list of
"10 Reasons I Love the United States of America"

(in no particular order and certainly not all-inclusive):
    1. The Flag: Symbolizes to me our Founding Fathers. They had the vision and the courage to put their ideals into words and found the Greatest Nation in the history of mankind.
    2. The Blue Star Service Banner: Symbol of service since 1917. We proudly fly one today.
    3. Colt M1911 (and variants): Greatest handgun ever made.
    4. US Rifle, Cal .30, M1: Nuff said.
    5. AR-15 Rifle (and variants): Duh...
    6. Full-size, American Pickup Trucks: I can think of few things in everyday life that symbolize America more.
    7. Kentucky Bourbon: Buffalo Trace or Bulleit preferred.
    8. The United States Fighting Man/Woman: Continuing a tradition of sacrifice born over 235 years ago. Thank God we still have those willing to serve and protect us.
    9. Harley-Davidson Motorcycles: Another uniquely American tradition.
    10. Smith & Wesson Revolvers: The older ones...preferably from the 50s and 60s. Another fine example of American craftsmanship and ingenuity at it's finest.
All of these things represent to me some of the finer reasons to be proud of our country. I have more. These just came to me faster than I could type them.

Independence Day is my favorite holiday with Thanksgiving running a very close second.

    Best to all of you.
Stella - my best girl ever.

NEVER forget the statement of Michele Obama- "For the first time in my life I am proud of my country". 2/18/08. Some quotes say "adult life", but I remember it without that. What a piece of trash. Wonder how much of our money they are spending today?

Hope I didn't ruin the thread, that's just the 1st thing I thought of after reading the original post- someone who does not love this country as most of us seem to. I also remind forum members that July 4 was also Lee's final day at Gettysburg. Pickett's Charge was on the 3rd, on the 4th Lee began the retreat back to Virginia. A lot of people don't know that the Gettysburg battle coincides with this holiday.

No you didn't ruin it at all. Its important that we don't forget about the Obamanations so we can get them out!

And the siege of Vicksburg ended when the Confederates surrendered the city to Maj. Gen. Grant on the same day.

A list of 100 things would barely begin to cover the greatness of the U.S. Those ten are a good start.

Nice list. Maybe baseball and apple pie need to be in there somewhere too.
