I wouldnt call it a direct way of instigating something, but he could have picked a helluva lot better place to preach gospel than in the middle of an arab festival where they are celebrating their own religion... I'm not trying to dog the vid, but its not really like he expected to go to to a muslim pride parade and convert people to christianity?

'their own religion' is the same as 'his own religion' in this country, and all parties have the right to have a peaceful assembly. It's okay to dog on the video, I would like to know where everyone stands, thus the post. I guess my real problem is that there is a scary underlying tone of the Muslims in that video, at least to me imo. I'm not trying to stir shit on this forum, just things that I find interesting and scary in the USA today.

I just wonder what is the point of going there if not to instigate? If a muslim did that at a Christian gathering, it would be the same outcome. The only reason to do that is to try and make a statement and doesn't really do any good. If you really want to spread your beliefs and educate people on them, there are a lot more intelligent ways of doing it... The guy was just going to try and get a reaction...

I guess my honest answer to that would be that the Bible tells you, if you are a believer in that book, to spread the word of Jesus. So maybe that pastors life is the bible, maybe he feels compelled to go out there as his duty to God, I don't know. I agree its not the best audience, best venue to set up shop and spread the word, that's very obvious. But I wonder if the tables were turned what would happen to the middle class Highlands Ranch/Littleton Christians if they acted the same way in the video? Honest question, would it be the same? Or would the media spin it another way?

Your media comment aside, I don't think the actual outcome would be any different at all. There would be just as many hateful comments and people acting stupid, because it's not really an appropriate venue. The media, of course, would claim it's racism... Either way, I think parties on both sides would be idiots.

I think its easy to say both sides would be idiots...so lets say for argument sake there was a big bill coming down to ban all 'assault rifles'. And down at the capitol building there was a huge group of people protesting the sale and ownership of said evil guns. But say you wanted to go down there and calmly talk about why guns are important to you, try and make 'believers' out of non gun owners by making them see what kind of guy you are etc....just playing devils advocate here. Are you an idiot then? Same situation, different issue. Oh and the libs are yelling things at you, cuz they hate your American bad ass self owning guns and they want to see them stripped away from you.

It's to make a statement, or inflame the people with the opposing view. Does Westboro go to military funerals to get people to follow their beliefs? No, they go for shock value. Do anti-protestors go to the KKK or Martin Luther King parades to get people to change their views? Not really. Some people "may" do that with good intentions, but that percentage is small, and would you bring a camera?

in your scenario, I wouldn't do that because I believe there are better avenues to educate people with different beliefs than mine.

I see your point as well, and not the way I would I handle my own situation either. But, despite what you and I think and how we would handle ourselves he can peacefully read the good book where ever he chooses, and I found the Muslim response not so peaceful, thats all. If you guys would rather not have me post this kind of stuff, thats fine. If we just want to talk about guns and ammo, thats fine as well. I just feel this huge cultural shift in America now from when I was younger, and frankly it scares me.
