    "After I shot my self my training kicked in, I called my Mommy and Daddy THEN 911"? Ummmmm help me understand? Where did that training come from? I felt for the guy until I heard him say that.

    That part seemed odd to me as well. I'm unaware of training that tells you to call mommy and daddy first in a gun shot wound scenario.

    It's the new Red Cross gunshot wound training they're giving out these days... in the even that mommy and daddy aren't around any more any substitute will do.

    I found that to be a base of ignorance for him... my training is to apply direct pressure to the wound and attempt to get the bleeding under control. If need be, apply tourniquet and seek more advanced medical care (US Army Combat Lifesaver doctrine).
