Default My stupid moment for the day.......alxoneish style GRAPHIC PICS

In honor of alxone and his 1911 mishap, glad you have one by the way Alex
Im posting my stupid moment of the day for you all to enjoy a laugh at my expense.

    GRAPHIC PICS BELOW

I doubt anyone knows that Im slowly and by slow I mean one lesson a year maybe,
learning to be a knifesmith. My best friend is a budding amatuer knifesmith with
incredible skills. He is learning from a local knifesmith/metalsmith and this guy
is phenomenal. So tonight was the 2nd time I have been bitten so to speak
while I was learning more on knifemaking.

I was actually done cleaning up the edge of my tomahawk and almost done
buffing the edge to a nice razor edge. The one corner of the edge needed just
a bit more buffing so I put an odd angle on it and then it got caught on the wheel
and shot that ****er across the room, not before it decided to use the pointed
backside of the tomahawk to tear a perfectly good pair of jeans and then slice me
open. My first concern was an artery since I could shave hair with the main edge
of the hawk, then was the fact my wife would be pissed I had to go get stiches.

Well the VA ER room was an easy night. No crazy stories to listen to from
others and I was in at 2100 and out by 2210.
The doc said I was smart in coming in and as soon as he started cleaning it,
it opened up more then in the pic, so Im glad that I went in when I saw that.

The tomahawk in question......the pointed rear part is what got me.

the only logical thing to do is give me the tomahawk. it is much too dangerous for you.

another one of those: "can never be too careful" things...but crap happens! glad you are okay!

Oh yeah you should give that nasty thing away, second in line.

    Sweet Tomahawk BTW

Might actually be a good thing it was so sharp. We all know that dull blade cuts are even worse. Glad you're OK. I just about sliced the end of my index finger off a couple weeks ago cleaning my antelope. I was just pulling the Wyoming knife out of the sheath and hadn't even started on the antelope! I so smrt!
