    Default Tarryall Mini-report

Took my pop up to Tarryall, an overnighter for his birthday. Excellent last night, roughly 6-10PM, couldn’t beat em’ off the line, fished this morning into early afternoon as well.

All stockers of course, ~8-15”, pounded em’ on baby crawlers, PowerBait was a distant runner-up (some guys down the bank were hitten’ em’ mid-morning on PowerBait though). This morning, I hit one on artificial corn, had a killer “strike, run and loss” on a Kastmaster, that was a damn nice fish, had him flyin’ twice before I lost it, and landed another one with a Blue Fox. Weather last night was light drizzle to light rain to cloudy moon-scapes but fairly temperate. This morning was cloud cover early but cleared quickly then hot & Sunny.

Tips: Evening, #8 or #10 hooks on a float w/ split-shot, go crawlers ~4-7' depth, 20-40 feet off-shore. They were hitting the crawlers really hard, even the smaller ones…BAM…waste no time letting these guys run, take em’ right away because they’ve got that bait down before you even react. Sunup, not so much, had to let em’ play and run a bit so patience was key.

Very short turn but we hit fish almost non-stop, great time…Happy Birthday again old man!

Pic of Dad’s take-home “Birthday gift cooler” below (mostly released but...kept a few).

Since I'm not a fisherman I didn't really follow a whole lot of what you just said, but from what I gather sounds like a huge success... Glad you got to have some fun, quality time, and made some nice catches with the pop for his birthday. Very cool. I wish my father and I could bond on that kind of level, the only thing we share in common is we both like shooting, and we both are in the same business. Good for you cebeu!

He and Pops went fishing. They caught a lot of fish.

    Nice report
