I-25 I-70 highway name opinions wanted

Ironically, funds were allocated for its' repair/expansion during the TREX build-out. But that money was spent on other things.

Ouch! Sorry but it appears some of that money was used to build two nice new bridges on I-25 down in Trinidad. Many thanks for that as I believe normally Trinidad is considered the asshole or at least the arm pit of Colorado so it's damn unusual for ANY money to trickle down to us. Thanks again - we do appreciate the very thoughtful but unusual gesture!!

Talked to my friend the other day (57 year native of Colorado- seen almost everything from the opening of the Eisenhower tunnel to all the major re-do's on the roads in/around Denver) and he came up with a list that only some of the older CO folks would know:
You've been in Colorado a long time when:
-Red Rocks used to be avoided like the plague when the Dead came to town (unless you wanted some good drugs)
-Same as above, except replace Red Rocks with Chief Hosa.
-It took 10 minutes to get from Colorado & Colfax to 6th & Sheridan.
-I-25 was relatively navigable mid-day to rush hour.
-McNick... nuff said.
-You remember when the Broncos first got a young QB named Elway.
-One of the highest points scorers on the Nuggests was named Dekimbe.
-That big french fry looking thing...
-There were miles of almost nothing between Denver and Castle Rock, then between Castle Rock and CO Spgs.
-The Colorado Rockies played hockey.
-Lift lines at the major resorts took maybe 3 min.
-We imported more cars from Detroit than people from California.
-Denver PD was a respectable organization and the ones you wanted to call for help.
-"South Park" was on the way to Buena Vista.
-Your senator was named "Nighthorse."

OR when they say the concert is at comfort dental amphitheater..... I get confused then go .. OH you mean Fiddlers Green.

Yes, I still call it Fiddlers Green... it's too confusing with all these sponsor named BS, Comfort Dental, First Bank Center, etc... stop changing names, just put a big sign and leave the name alone!

Nope, Trinidad, CO is not the sex change capital any more. That performing Doctor (Dr. Marcie Bowers, formerly Mark Bowers) moved out (bag and baggage) to the West Coast.

Come on! Some of you younger people need to get out more. I live 60 miles north of Denver and I have heard of all those nicknames listed. I'm only 30.

Don't forget the Boulder Turnpike! And Mile Hi stadium is still Mile Hi stadium (Invesco Field, my butt).

Personally (I know I'll offend somebody), but I really don't care what new people to Colorado think about what we've called some of our landmarks nor do I feel the need to be sensitive to their confusion. Go back to your old place if you don't like it...!
