Ok, out of Denver, who remembers waiting in lines for hours as they worked on Glenwood Canyon and the two lane little road that ran right along the river???

and the ski area (I forget the name) right at the top of Floyd Hill?

I remember this road before construction started. During the early summer, it would often flood from the river swelling.

My grandfather was an engineer for CDOT (it was called something else back then) who worked on the I-70 Glenwood Canyon and Eisenhower Tunnel projects. I've been down that stretch of I-70 a few years ago, it's like the highway flies over the smaller road near the river right?

Most of the original road is gone. There are some places that still exist as an access road.
