So does anyone own or have any experience with either the Peltor 6-S or 7-S shooting muffs? The 6's are about $60 cheaper than the 7's and I was wondering if there is realy that much of a difference between the two?
Thanks for your thoughts!

I have owned a pair of the 6's for over 8 years. Used them for working AF Rifle ranges for half of that time with up to 20 M-16's going off in a covered range. Love them to death! They work great!
The only change I'd made was to reverse the muffs so that the dished out area at the outer top of the muff is now at the outer bottom. They put that skinny area at the top so that if you are wearing a helmet, it would fit down over the muff, but I don't wear a helmet on the range so reversed it. Now it allows for a good cheekweld when shooting long arms.
OH, did I mention they work great? They are also very light weight and don't slip around when you are on the move. And, they work great!
I like mine, but I think that if you are going to be doing a lot of shooting around other people you would want a pair with a higher rating. In any case they offer a lot better protection because you always have them on. Unlike a regular muff that people usually tilt up to hear their shooting buddies all the time.
If you have never worn a pair you will be amazed. They are like binoculars for your ears when all is quiet.
I really appreciate all the input, 'yall!
I finally made the plunge and went for the 7's. They are NICE! And I'm taking some training this weekend so I'll get to try them out and get them broken into (8 hours of training!). But just walking around the house it's amazing how they amplify sounds.
Thanks again!
