Hi everyone!
Obviously I'm new to the forums so thought I would introduce myself.
I found the forums while poking around looking for some info on AR's. I've wanted one for as long as I can remember and was finally getting a bit more serious about picking one up.
After lurking on the boards for a couple of days looking at some of the used rifles posted for sale I decide to check out a few local shops to get some opinions on the different models.
I was out in Lakewood at MGT's yesterday and stumbled across the Spike line of lowers. Once I saw the Zombie lower it was all over
They only had the bare bones lower and nothing else so I call Spike and low and behold it turns out they are backordered on pretty much everything for a minimum of two months. They suggested if I could find anything locally to jump on it.
Back out to MGT's (thinking I would look at some other options for the upper) and in a twist of fate UPS dropped off a shipment when I got there that included the 16" M4 upper and the trigger assembly kits - woohoo!!!
I snagged all of it (they were out of stock on the Magpul UBR stock damnit!) but I got everything else. Thinking of going with a Daniels extended foregrip / rails but havent quite decided if I want to drop the $350 on it.
Regardless I have found some great info here on doing the build (glad I read up about the tapered pins in the A2 front sight before I started beating on it!) and great general info on shooting in Colorado. Happy I found the site.
Hope to get through the build this weekend if I can find a UBR locally.
For anyone not familiar with Spike here is a shot of the lower and ejection port cover (oh yea!)
