FYI, I'm pretty dang sure LG makes all the Whirlpool and Kenmore appliances.
Linear compressor went out in ours. Compressor parts warrantied for 10 years, but no labor warranty. Costs big bucks to get the parts installed, and from what I could tell in my research, the replacements are also going out. It's a flawed design and there have been a couple of class action lawsuits around it. I also had to replace the ice maker around year 2 and they had an updated part for that. I wasn't going to put another dime into it. Went from a 31 cubic ft. to a 25 cubic ft. Whirlpool and don't notice the difference. The space in the Whirlpool is much more efficient and useful.

Whirlpool owns Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, HotPoint, JennAir, Amana...and some others. An American company and made in 'Merica. Have also been quite happy with the Maytag washer and dryer that replaced an LG washer and dryer a few years ago.

Kenmore used to be Whirlpool for decades, but they switched to LG when Sears was beginning to suck wind.

This is the gun I asked about filling in the "gold" fill of the crest and barrel lettering that has flaked off. Some of the features include the right side of the trigger guard being trimmed for faster access to the trigger, smooth backstrap for further engraving etc, Texas star in the grips vs the S&W medallion.
That's a beaut! Congrats on that nice S&W.

Since it's a shooter, I'd try my hand at filling the lettering with something like this fine point gold paint pen - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018N6214/

Our old kenmore (Whirlpool) is in the garage still going strong.

my 08 toyota, which are supposedly some of the better built vehicles out there. Had the front structs crap out @ 59K along with a water pump, main seal and pulley. That extended Toyota Warranty i scored on for cost +10 @ 58K on a used vehicle, cost 1/3 less than the repairs Toyota paid for. They've paid even more when the front axle on the AWD took a shit.

Same for a stove that crapped out 3x. Surprised at the coverage some mfg offer on items. Same for amazon and of all places, walmart.

Now you want to talk about a worthless piece of paper. Don't ever allow an older family member to do a reverse mortgage.

I love that utility strip with lights, where did you find that?

A far better deal than an extended warranty is the mechanical breakdown coverage offered by some insurance companies. I have GEICO and pay about $60 per year. Covers everything except normal wear/tear items with a $250 deductible. Take it to any repair shop, pay deductible, done. You can get it on a car that's 2 model years old with less than 15k miles and I think they'll offer it for 7 years.

The utility strip came from Home Depot. I think it was $30.
