I think I'm using too bright of a light as it splashes surrounding surfaces. I'm thinking maybe a smaller target.

This is what I built. Dont have much evidence of remains, as it flings them across the yard pretty far.

Ray will call me tiger queen again, but this is my moth hunter. Only seen a few unattended out of hundreds. He's thrilled for the newest hobby & snacks. Fat & happy beast. I've been entertained as well.

You want a zapper that uses alternating rods. Plus, as long as you don't have kids around, you want to remove the outer protective plastic cover that also keeps moths out, leaving bare rods that the moths can bonzai into and fry. I'm sure removing the protective cover is a crime punishable by 10 years in jail in some states, but it's the only way to allow moths easy access to the electrodes of death.

    Something like this model:

I absolutely love the sound, too! Great entertainment.

ETA: I bought some cheap piece of crap by Stinger at the local hardware store. O2 is spot on with regards to the grid. Little bastards land on it and if they don't land on the right one they just fly away. It was on all night...no bug body count in the morning. I took it back and got the Flowtron from Amazon because no one in town had any left. The Flowtron is Made in the USA and it works. There was a little lightning storm going on within seconds of firing that thing up and a visible body count on the patio after 5 minutes. It works great!

ETA again: What it looked like this morning. I got distracted doing something else and forgot to move the step stool. As you can see the grid on this larger model doesn't have the vertical plastic strips. The opening is large enough for moths to get through as you can see:

I put it indoor and only got 6.
I am going to put it outside tonight (since it is not forecasted to rain) and see.
If not many, definitely will buy another one you guys recommended.

I'd think it would just make em go poof. Would be bonus if it kept dog busy chasing em after the fling.

I had my truck parked nearby, I could hear the bodies hit the tailgate after being whacked. I occasionally will find headless ones nearby.
