Ha. I bought a hundred rounds of surplus black tip years ago for a dollar a round. It was linked just like that. Never actually got to fire any of it but basically gave it away a round or two at a time over the years. I dissected a couple of the projectiles and the tungsten(?) core was pretty impressive. The 50 BMG makes the 300 Win Mag cartridge look tiny.

Well the shed turned pool room is finished (well mostly finished, still have a big window on order to go where the little riding mower garage door is).Click image for larger version.

Ha. I didn?t see a swimming pool anywhere in your pictures. I think maybe you just made a billiard room by mistake.

Nice! Does that wall unit heat and cool? I've heard they work pretty good.

With a capital T, that rhymes with P and it stands for Pool

Not sure what brand he installed. I have 3 daikens, in 2 buildings and happy with them. FYI: some of them do not work when the temp drops below X deg. Mine works to around -5 (wind chill) in the winter.

It just arrived via slow boat from China; a modified version of an open source project

Some nice looking hardware; now all I need is a real radio + antenna to use this. All I have is some cheap stuff; but no real base station.

Yep, its a Pioneer 12k BTU unit (I probably would have been fine with the 9600 BTU unit but I figured better to have too much than too little).

You can put it in automatic mode and it'll decide whether it needs to heat or cool to get the temperature you like. The two things I found most amazing about the thing was 1) the ease of installation (only needed an HVAC guy to hook up the coolant lines, everything else a trained monkey could do) and 2) how ridiculously quiet it is (both inside and out).

We'll see how well it handles Kansas summer in a few weeks.

Mine says it'll work to -13deg ... I'm dubious, but it rarely gets that cold here so worst case I'll have to get a space heater for the handful of super cold days. Also in the winter, it doesn't need to keep the shed like "barefoot and shorts" comfortable, just keep the wood and bumpers of the table in a stable temperature range to keep them from moving too much (or the rubber bumpers hardening prematurely).

The big power hog transmitters I have are 2 watts...I have about 3 of those. Mostly going to use the hardware for SWR, maybe on a CB radio (not owned yet) that has a few additional features to it. Why? just because

This version of the hardware (open source fork) has one of the better displays out there. I decided to buy from the source that way I know the specific version that I picked up is not just a bad copy. I did pickup the connectors + test board to help me figure out this device.

Now to find something a bit more complex to buy....how about a used ICOM 7200 or new 7300 into a dust bunny magnet...
