Traded a guy 1000 rounds of 5.56mm and 500 9mm for this little 8 x 16 lathe. He never even took it out of the crate. I've always wanted to learn how to use one. Now I can. I don't expect to be making aerospace quality parts with it...but it should be OK to learn on.

    One down, two to go.

    My Feedback
Credit TFOGGER : Liberals only want things to be "fair and just" if it benefits them.
Credit Zundfolge: The left only supports two "rights"; Buggery and Infanticide.
Credit roberth: List of things Government does best; 1. Steal your money 2. Steal your time 3. Waste the money they stole from you. 4. Waste your time making you ask permission for things you have a natural right to own. "Anyone that thinks the communists won't turn off your power for being on COAR15 is a fucking moron."

remember to get a good - heavy table for that lathe - maybe an old welding table?

Now hunt down a mill in the same size and you will be able to make as many atomic turnip tiddlers you want.

Yeah... I thought about where I'm going to put it. I don't have room for a dedicated steel table. It'll be on a steel plate on a very solid wooden workbench. It's the best I can do for now. Like I said...mostly for learning right now.

Nice deal! Never messed with one, looks like it could be dangerous.

You should pick up that titanium tube from Irving and make some cans

LOL... I might need to learn how to turn it on first. I really know very little about using a lathe.

starting the slow process of upgrading parts of my home network - the odd looking "holes' on the right are for SPF+ ports

i noticed that my old computer does have a 1 gig port - not sure why it is running at 100 meg so if I get some Cat 8 cable - I will test out if the build in network can't hang at 1gig
