Can you attach the cannon so it doesn't pop off the base?

It is my understanding that the cannon is attached to the base with those straps, I will ask him in the morning though.

Just talked to him, yes the cannon is held on by the 2 straps and you change elevation by moving the wedge under the rear of the barrel back and forth.
