Remember, Remember, the 6th of September

The stories, the drinks and the shots

    ||: I know of a reason, the drinks and the stories

    will probably be forgot
    :||
Kazoo and companions, theGinsue and Hoser, TheGrey and all the rest

Explained the myths and the legends, traditions, processions

Of the smileys, chainsaws and the jests
Then HBARLeatherneck (Dude, what the heck?)
Screamed "repost!", so they made them a sticky
And then was no reason, despite harvest season
To gather, to learn and to grow
    And besides if we scheduled
    in harvest or May
It would probably be cancelled for snow

So...I built a Poly 80% Glock 17 lower. Turns out, no one makes a holster for it. So I got off my butt and made one. Been a while since I've been able to make holsters, but since I got a new belt sander, I'm back at it again.

That is a good looking holster...with WAY too much retention. I know that having the super detail looks nice, but it shouldnt have that much. Draw is not going to be smooth and it WILL wear your gun.
Retention is actually not bad at all. The detail doesn't affect the retention on this whatsoever. The kydex won't wear your gun that much as long as it's clean. I've seen leather holsters wear out a gun a lot faster than kydex. I completed several draws from this holster without any issues. Also, I'm not too concerned with holster wear. It's a working gun, not a safe queen.

The front is .060 and the back is .080 thickness. It fits tight to the body and very comfortable. I wore this around for a bit last night and love it.

How did you get that amount of detail without impossible retention? Did you form it, then relax how close the pieces are to each other?

I'll try and post a video of me drawing from it. That way no one thinks I'm pulling their leg. Generally I play with the trigger guard using a heat gun if I need to loosen up the retention.
