Should I or shouldn't I?

OK, I have a unfired Ruger 50th anniversary Single Six. As it sits in my safe today it's exactly the way Ruger packaged it for distribution...I've never even pulled the hammer back. I wanna shoot the dang thing but I wonder if it has or will have any value as it is and if so will the value be diminished after a day out shooting?

Chances are I'm eventually going to take it out plinking but I'd really like to hear your thoughts.

Did you buy it to be a safe queen or to shoot? That's the real question you should be asking yourself. Personally, I would shoot it.

Shoot it! I was waffling on the same thing with one of my Colt's. I took it out, shot it, works great, put it back in the back of the safe and now I know!

I hit the same conundrum when I got my Kimber.

Its like a car... its not fun sitting in your garage.

If you bought it as a collector's piece or as an investment to make a few bucks later on, I would say leave it in the safe. If not, I would shoot it. I've had firearms in the past that I had the same question, and I've always ended up selling or trading them because they were to nice/pretty/etc to shoot or carry.
