    Default Where to camp?

Been looking over the net trying to find a place to go camping... and by camping i mean:

    campfires allowed
    no designated camping spots
no one around us for miles
    scenery
    ability to shoot
able to get to it via hiking
maybe ability to do some fishing ( good or bad, its the action that counts )

I want the classic camping experience, none of this BS people think camping is.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go? I would be down to drive quite a bit as well.

    Check out

    www.mountainproject.com Under the Colorado section.
Climbing spots are generally great for regualr camping as no one but climbers go there and often climbers dont go regularly to the less popular spots. To figure that part out, look at the feedback posts and their dates.

    Thanks! Will take a look.

I know the kind of camping i want to do exists in Colorado.. ive done it before just quite a long time ago.

I imagine the hardest thing to accommodate will be a camp fire, i just about couldnt imagine going camping with out a fire but will do what i have too.

Get a map and find some BLM land. With all the moisture we have been having I would "guess" that fire restrictions are lifted in a lot of places for the time being.
Certified NRA Instructor, ask me about CCW classes

Almost any national forest in Colorado... I like Pike, there are a crap load of great spots if you look for them. Fire bans ?????? Well if the conditions are dry,,, no fires.. There are other ways to have "ambience"

Some remote areas requiring 4x4 up Guanella pass, Boreas pass. I don't think there is a ban up that high.
