    Default Third party extended warranty

Anyone know a good company to go with for one of these? My truck just hit 100,000 and my factory warranty is up.

I don't know of a company I'd go with because I've only had experience with the bad ones. I bought one from Continental for my Audi S4 and as one of my turbos was going out I had the shop contact them. They told me that I would have to pay to have the engine removed (13 hours) to inspect the turbos- if they were bad I would be reimbursed and if only one was bad I'd be reimbursed half the cost. So I had to front the cost in hopes that they would cover it. It turned out I had a Certified pre-owned warranty and the dealership covered the turbos (and I gave the tech a bottle of crown and $100 to swap in bigger ones while doing the job). Either way third party warranties will weasel their way out of coverage every chance they get, especially when it gets expensive and you need them. They're clown shoes.
Put the money for the warranty in an account and use that to pay for stuff that breaks- I think you'll come out ahead.

    Do NOT do those.

Those things are worthless. They will always find an out so they don't have to pay up.

Your truck is old, things will break. The bright side is if you have 100k on the odometer, that means that parts are aplenty and cheap.

I would see if an extended manufacturers warranty is available. Aftermarket warranties are WORTHLESS!

That's the best option right there.

I wouldn't waste money on an extended warranty. Nothing but headaches and heartbreaks should you try to use it.

I own an auto repair shop and can tell you that those warranties are worthless rip offs. Do like nogaroheli said and save the $ in the bank. You'll come out way ahead and with less headaches!

I sold high line autos for 7 years, take the money you would spend on the 'warranty' and set it aside, emergency fund Dave Ramsey style. Just imo.
